SUR DE CHILE COÑARIPE PANGUIPULLI PIRIHUEICO

Imagen
From Coñaripe to Pirihueco. During this years April I alongside with the Agrupación Turística Emprendedores de Peumo, visited Coñaripe, on the Panguipulli commune, on the west side of the Calafquen Lake. It is beautiful town which you can visit at any time of the year, although you have to consider the winter, that can proove to be very tough, and welcome you with heavy snowfalls. Nevertheless, in this opportunity we were welcomed by a soft and gentle rain, that gave way to a spectacular sun. The Coñaripe sorroundings are full of touristic attractions, one of the main touristic zones are the Geometrical Hot Springs (Termas Geométricas in local language), a marvellous landscape, but a little expensive. Another remarkable place is called Liquiñe, where you can find a group of campings, hot springs (with very accesible prices) and lots of chilean restaurants, many of them with Mapuche roots. And it is worth to visit them all! So I strongly recommend to stay no less than 10 d...

TRATTORIA EL CALABRÉS, BARRIO BELLAVISTA, SANTIAGO

Imagen
El Calabrés, a must in Santiago de Chile. Fusing the old italian traditions, with the new culinary trends, I found myself 6 years ago at the Trattoria El Calabrés. Its owners, the Cimino family and Angelo, their very young chef, who worked in France with one of the most important chefs at that time, Christian Etienne, although Angelo recognizes that the best school that he could have was the Cimino’s kitchen, and was from that kitchen that he rescued his grandfather’s handwritten cookbook. You can see the cookbook proudly and carefully disposed that restaurant’s entrance. The restaurant is located at an old house in Ernesto Pinto Lagarrigue street, this trattoria is blessed by the good taste of its owners who have been responsible for making an extremely cozy and familiar place, italian music is played on its right volumen and you can see a collection of pictures over the walls, that will surely make you stop to watch. The absolutely personalized attention from the chef, who goes t...

VALPARAÍSO DE MI AMOR Valparaiso is a port city on the coast of Chile. It is known for its elevated cable cars and colorful houses on cliffs. La Sebastiana, which used to be the extravagant home of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, now functions as a museum and offers sweeping views of the Pacific.
